Cavaleria Rusticana

About a month ago I went to Gedung Kesenian Jakarta to see Cavaleria Rusticana. If you ever watched God Father 3, this opera was played there as Don Corleone's son was an opera singer, a leading Tenor in fact.
I enjoyed the show very much, though it can not be compared to ones I saw at Sydney. The conductor was Avip Priatna and the leading soprano was the Indonesian's best: Binu.
The Tenor was not very powerfull. Once he had to sing with Binu and grand music, his voice can not be heard. On the contrary, the Bariton was very strong, besides he was more handsome :).
I liked the chorus. Played by Universitas Parahyangan Chorus, it was amazing. They are young, slim, beautiful and handsome, and of course with good voice. Pretty surprising to see that most of them are young and Chinese (my favourite race :)) ... singing in Opera stage.

This was 2nd Opera I watched at Jakarta. The first was English Opera, 'Dido and Eneas', also with Avip dan Binu. Unfortunately I got constantly calls from my boss hiks. I hardly enjoy the show, half of the show I left the theatre hiks.

I do hope Avip will do another one.
